We hosted our first brunch event at our Black Luxe Candle Co. Pop-Up Shop located in the Bucktown / Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.
Have you ever hosted a party and had nightmares that no one will show up? Well I’ll be honest - that thought definitely crossed my mind since this was our first ticketed event at our pop-up shop.
Let me tell you…the exact OPPOSITE happened. We completely SOLD OUT of tickets for the event! I could hardly believe it!
It was an absolutely amazing event and the perfect way to wrap up Thanksgiving weekend because that’s exactly how I feel…thankful!
The Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhood has been so welcoming to us and I’m continuously blown away by the incredible community we’ve built here at Black Luxe.
I’m so thankful for you all each and every day!
I wanted to give you a little recap of the event in case you weren’t able to be there in person.
We pulled out all the stops (how could we not?) for this event with an assortment of delicious catered bites, a mimosa bar, a 1 hour Candle Making Experience and a discussion about caring for our mental health.
Check out the full recap below!
Welcome! Time to Set the Mood
We had a local Bucktown violinist performing for the event. Like I mentioned earlier, the neighborhood has been so supportive so it was really special to have someone from the community play at the event. A little mood music was just what we needed to set the tone for our self-care Sunday Funday.
Everyone was taking full advantage of our selfie rooms and that is what we LOVE to see! We can’t get enough of these photos from the event!
Candle Making Workshop
Our guests enjoyed a 1-hour candle making class that provides everything needed to make your own candle. They select their favorite fragrance and vessel, then measure, mix and pour their very own candle in an instructor-led class (while sipping on mimosas of course).
Our Brunch Spread
Salmon Philly Eggrolls
Honey soy steak
Complimentary Mimosa Bar (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available)
Mental Health Discussion
We finished the event with an open discussion led by Tynisha Jointer, founder of Invested Consultant Firm LLC around What is Self-Care, how to implement, and resources to use on your personal Self-Care journey. Self-Care is always important but especially during the holiday season.
We also had raffles, gift bags, a little extra pampering and more because you know I always like to add in a little something *extra* special for you!
A very special thank you to our event partners. We couldn’t have done it without you!
All in all it was a great first event and I’m looking forward to more to come! Thank you all so much!
Love & Light,
